Youk’s Kids was founded in 2007 by Boston Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis to support the health and well-being of children throughout Red Sox Nation.  Initially, Youk’s Kids supported children by aligning with small, grassroots charities who needed both financial assistance and increased public support.  The following organizations were chosen as partners between the years of 2007 and 2010 because, like Youk’s Kids, they are concerned with the health and well being of children.   The following outlines our past successes with our previous partners:

Joslin Pediatric Center was able to publish Managing Childhood Diabetes: A Family Teamwork Approach as a resource to educate the families of those dealing with pediatric diabetes.

With a $50,000 match challenge from Youk’s Kids, Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding Program was able to more than triple the number of participants in their annual spring 5K  roadrace and more than quadruple the dollars raised to support their Susan McDaniel Tuition Assistance Fund. A second match challenge of $25,000 was provided in 2010.

Youk’s Kids hosted a shower for Christopher’s Haven and furnished two apartments for families of children undergoing cancer treatment.  These apartments are critical to the comfort and care of these children and their families, as many re-locate to receive the highest quality treatment.

Working with corporate partner, Bain Capital, Youk’s Kid coordinated a brand new state of the art computer lab for the students at Nativity Preparatory School.

As we stride forward with our Athletes for Heroes program, we thank and recognize these organizations, and applaud their efforts to improve the lives of children.
