Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in helping us to make a positive difference in children's lives.
Every day, thousands of children across New England and throughout the United States, endure difficult challenges — whether that is dealing with medical or emotional distress, the prospect of going through the day without the support of a loving and nurturing family, or living within a community that lacks the resources for them to grow and learn.
We have been fortunate through the community of baseball and Red Sox Nation to have the opportunity to meet so many great kids in New England and to discover the wealth of charities that have been set up across the region to support the health and well-being of children.
Despite the vast out-pouring of support that exists, many smaller charities lack efficient funds and awareness to provide children with all the necessary opportunities for healing and growth that all children deserve.
With the help of many individuals, we are excited to be in a position to form Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids, a charitable organization that is dedicated to rallying local and corporate support for the sole purpose of assisting children's charities in need.
Take for example a charity that we love — The Italian Home for Children — one of the Boston-area charities that are making a significant impact in improving kids' lives. The Italian Home is a residential and day treatment facility for emotionally, physically, and behaviorally challenged children of all races, nationalities and religions. On any given day about 100 children attend the programs in the Jamaica Plain campus. The Italian Home deals with children that most of society would find difficult to even acknowledge — children so emotionally distraught that their hope for a happy future is all but gone. These are children that are part of our community, and our goal is to raise awareness and funds to bring comfort, normalcy and happiness to their lives.
Our passion for giving back extends to other critically important local organizations. Joslin Pediatric Health Services cares for over 2,500 pediatric patients, including more than half of the young people with diabetes in Eastern Massachusetts. The Youkilis family appreciates the efforts of Joslin, as my uncle was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, and my parents and brothers have always remained strong advocates for supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The work of Joslin for local area kids will be another area that we hope you will join us in supporting.
Since Boston is a baseball town, Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids is committed to improving the enjoyment of baseball in local communities throughout the area. With your help, we are striving for all community ball fields to be safe and equipped areas where kids can go enjoy the game.
