PHILLIPS CANDY HOUSE AND KEVIN YOUKILIS “HITS FOR KIDS” ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL CHILDREN
Boston’s Oldest Chocolatier and Favorite Red Sox First Baseman Team Up to Benefit Local Children
BOSTON—June 23, 2008—Phillips Candy House in Boston, MA announced today that it has teamed up with Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids to help raise funds for community-based children’s charities and medical research organizations by introducing the signature “Yoouukk!” milk chocolate bar. 100 % of the net proceeds of the chocolate bar sales will be donated to Hits for Kids. Phillips is also donating 15% of June, July and August sales of their signature Red Sox Bucket to Youkilis’ charity.
The “Yoouukk!” milk chocolate bar, which retails for $3, is available online at phillipschocolate.com and at both Phillips Candy House locations. The “Yoouukk!” bar will also be sold at select Red Sox home games later this summer.
The Phillips signature Red Sox Bucket is filled to the brim with delicious milk chocolate baseballs, freshly baked Phillips chocolate chip cookies, “ballpark” popcorn, a Red Sox tumbler, temporary Red Sox tattoos & pencils and an adorable plush baseball. The Bucket is the perfect gift for adults and children on occasions including graduations, birthdays, or as a “just because” for your favorite Red Sox fan.
“We're excited to partner with Boston's oldest chocolatier, Philips Candy House, who has committed to supporting our mission through the sale of their Red Sox chocolate gifts,” said Kevin Youkilis. “Every partnership brings something special to the table. With Philips Candy House it's the “Yoouukk!” chocolate bar, and the Red Sox bucket. Both are fun and delicious and will appeal to all baseball fans - especially those fans who want to join us in supporting the health and well being of children.”
“As Boston’s oldest chocolatier, as well as eternal Red Sox fans, we are thrilled to partner with Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids to raise money for his charity through the sales of our Red Sox Bucket and the “Yoouukk!” chocolate bar,” said Mary Ann Nagle, 3rd generation chocolatier and General Managing owner of Phillips Candy House. “As a family owned and operated business, giving back to the community, especially families and children, is something that we’re proud to be part of and support.”
